Our Story

Journey to Heal Ministries exists to help women heal from past sexual abuse and to inspire and equip the church to do the same. We launched in 2018 in response to the growing need for Christ-centered, Biblically-based support for women. Women receive practical and Gospel-centered hope through our Journey to Heal Study.

Through our Journey to Heal programs, women receive trauma-informed, Gospel-centered, support and community that they desperately need. They realize they are not alone and there is hope for healing. But, we can’t do this alone. We believe the local church has an incredible opportunity to partner in hope and healing for survivors and their families. Together we can help to break the cycle of abuse in the lives of survivors so they can live a better story!

Our Mission

To help women heal from past sexual abuse by leading them to hope in Jesus Christ, through providing trauma-informed support, education, and community

Our Vision

For all women impacted by past sexual abuse to have access to the Journey to Heal Women’s Study within their local church or community

Our Board of Directors

Our board of directors is unique in that each of our members has been impacted by sexual trauma. Each has a personal interest in furthering our mission to provide help, hope, and healing for all women who have been through past sexual abuse.

Our Volunteer Mentors

Our volunteer mentors are made up of a brave mix of women who come from a variety of backgrounds. Each have their own stories of childhood abuse, but all share a common hope in Jesus Christ. Each have experienced healing through the Journey to Heal Women’s study, and have trained to help other women experience the same.

Our Ministry Partners

Ministry Partners are organizations that have linked arms with us to provide the Journey to Heal Women’s Study within the programs they offer to women in their local communities. With every ministry partner listed here, there is a woman on our team who has established a Journey to Heal Women’s Group to help women in her community!

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” (Luke 4:18 NIV).

Our Heart

Since we began this ministry, we have led hundreds of women locally and globally through our 8-week program, either 1:1 or through our online or in-person Journey to Heal groups. We’ve trained many individuals, counselors, and ministry leaders to do the same. At the heart of all we do as a ministry, we endeavor to follow the example of Jesus Christ.
